Ministry Huddle
Now that we’ve been doing Dinner Church for a little over half a year, let’s group up to talk about what we can do to make it more effective. Join us as we all come together to talk as a body and as we break out by ministry to catch up to speed with one another. Let us know any blindspots you’ve see or what has been overbearing for you so that we can try to share the load. We want to constantly tweak things until we’ve found a good groove for everyone.

Dinner Church Demo #4
At this point, we will no longer be holding Sunday morning service. While our official launch takes place September 9th, we will be demoing our new service the two Sunday's before it (August 26th and September 2nd). To keep food simple for these events, we will be getting a bunch of Little Caesar's Pizzas. A few bucks go a long way if you're able to put some money in the donation box when you come to service! These last two demos will help us make sure we have everything in order for our official launch on September 9th!
Light Up the City Jackson at 1208
1208GREENWOOD is hosting the final Light Up the City Jackson walk of the summer. Join us at 5 for a meet-and-greet and then at 6 we'll hit the streets with our fellow community members to pass out lightbulbs to our neighbors in hopes to brighten up the area. Help us get a headcount now by signing up here.

Dinner Church Demo!
Since we already have a potluck on the first week of the month, we thought we would hold another Dinner Church demo! Because of this, Sunday morning service will NOT be held. Instead, doors open at 4:30pm, our communal potluck is served at 5 and service is held right at 6. Come check it out for yourselves and get ready to serve in the areas you signed up for! Jamin will be preaching this week on the topic of Why We Practice Peace-Making in order to remind us of the importance of this avenue in the dinner church model.
Artist Training

Fasting Through August
Throughout the month of August, we are asking 1208ers to consider fasting once a week on behalf of our new Dinner Church Direction. Please consider joining us in this important spiritual effort as we grow in relationship with God and tackle spiritual strongholds in Jackson. You may choose the day of the week you fast and set your own rules as to how you do so.
Dinner Church Shirts
Those of you who ordered a dinner church shirt will be able to pick it up as early as our July 29th service. If you are unable to pay for the shirt, we give it to you as a gift. If you are able to pay for it, we originally asked for $4 a shirt. This is still a helpful donation, but a few extra fees have brought the actual price to about $6 a shirt. Therefore, while it is not necessary, if you are willing to give a little extra to help balance out our budget, it would be very helpful!

Dinner Church Retreat
With so much ahead of us, we know it would do us some good to get out and have a little fun together as well as take some time to pray for what's ahead of us. All are welcome to join us in Morley, MI for this special trip, including your kids. If you're interested, please let us know if (1) you plan on bringing a tent for yourself or your family; (2) if you need overnight lodging; or (3) if you only plan on joining us for that Saturday.
This event is free, but if you are able to donate $10 or so, it'll go a long way in providing for meals. While many will plan on arriving Friday evening, Jamin will be up there much earlier if you'd like to come sooner. (Click the heading of this event for more details)…
